We believe that through a systematic approach to social and environmental investing, governments, foundations, individual donors, development agencies, corporations, tribes and communities can realize greater impacts. That systematic approach aligns with the adaptive management cycle that frames most aspects of Nautilus Impact Investing practice.
We are committed to working respectfully with others to improve the practice of social and environmental impact investing. We seek to advance the practice of impact investing and so actively share results and lessons from our work, except on those occasions where we are restricted by commercial interest or confidentiality requirements.
Nautilus tailors our approach to working with each partner according to their specific needs. We typically commence our engagement with an informal discussion of project objectives and anticipated outcomes. If we agree that Nautilus is an appropriate partner, we then develop a letter of engagement or performance contract that defines roles and responsibilities, terms and key deadlines.
As a project proceeds, we maintain close communication and adapt our approach as needed to address unexpected changes or variations in the scope of work. Upon conclusion of the project, we undertake an in-depth debriefing, including direction of dissemination of results and/or next steps.
