Supporting Conservation and Community Sustainability

Nautilus recently facilitated a successful three-day partnership retreat for three entities working on conservation and community sustainability efforts in the Aleutian Islands and Bering Sea.

The Aleutian and Bering Sea Islands Landscape Conservation Cooperative (ABSI LCC) was joined by the Aleut International Association and the National Park Service’s Beringia program at the NOAA/UAF Kasitsna Bay laboratory.

The ABSI LCC is one of five LCCs in Alaska and is a collaboration of diverse partners including industry, federal and Tribal governments, and academia with the goal of developing science needs and unique connections necessary to take on the 21st Century’s challenges and opportunities (see https://absilcc.org/).

The retreat was designed to harvest lessons learned over the past seven years and explore future scenarios for the continued success of ABSI’s partnerships.
