Impact Investing is a fast-growing field, with rapid growth in both total investment in impact funds and increasing diversification of fund types. The Forum for Sustainable and Responsible Investment 2016 survey of sustainable, responsible and impact investing (SRI) assets under management in the US alone totaled some $8.72 trillion, which is roughly one-fifth of all funds under professional management. Funds engaged in SRI had grown 33 percent since 2014. There is constant innovation in impact investing, with new types of impact funds and ventures in fields as diverse as healthcare, agriculture, education, climate adaptation and fisheries.
The Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN) builds critical infrastructure and supports activities, education, and research that help accelerate impact investing innovation. The GIIN website provides an overview of the field of impact investing and tracks funds and their performance.
How We Help:
As an Investor
Nautilus Impact Investing selectively invests in impact projects. We do not accept unsolicited investment proposals, but will work with partners to identify funding opportunities, including blended funding options and with financial institutions to promote specific impact funds. Nautilus will also assist potential investors and funders to conduct due diligence of proposed impact strategy and evaluate/benchmark the performance of a specific project or fund.
As an Advisor/Strategist
Our main role is to assist fund managers and investors with impact strategy, measurement and evaluation. We work with nonprofits, government, research, community and tribal organizations to a) understand and engage with impact investing institutions, and b) develop projects that may be suitable for impact investments and/or blended investments, often involving grant or development assistance funding.
Please reach out to our team if you are contemplating an impact investment opportunity and would like Nautilus to assist you with that assessment.
